This has been a long time coming, and thank you to everyone who has been around since the start, providing feedback, and informing the direction of the platform. We wouldn't be here without you. To everyone on the waitlist, we're looking forward to play some Minecraft together!
Over the last 2+ weeks, we've been diligently testing the platform. In reality, that amounts to a two week Minecraft binge while noting down and fixing any bugs we find, and maintaining a list of features we'd like to add to the platform.

We are pleased to report that we now have a working and stable platform, and an exciting roadmap which we'll be delivering incrementally during Early Access.
How to join?
Over the next couple of weeks, we're going to be accepting the first round of people from our waitlist. So if you aren't in the waitlist yet then get yourself added!
There will be no payments required during Early Access, all you need is Minecraft Java Edition and an internet connection. You can play as long as you like, make as many worlds as you need. Bring your friends, build something cool and show it off to us on our Discord or socials.
Please be aware that Obsidian Worlds is still an in-development platform. If you do have any problems with it, we're on standby and ready to help. Equally, if there's any features you'd like us to add, we're excited to hear your suggestions!
How does it work?
Obsidian Worlds is a little different from your average Minecraft hosting solution. We currently don't have random seeds. *Gasp*.
Instead, we have carefully curated five seeds (more coming soon) with the help of some talented seed hunters. Each seed has been hand picked for something special it offers. We're hoping you'll drop in and be instantly inspired by what you see. They are truly something special.
We've written some deep dives (digs?) into each one, giving you a little sneak peek at what you might stumble on:

Once you're happy with your choice, login and create a new world. Choose your world type, your seed and give it a name. It should take less than a minute to create a new world.
Linking your Minecraft Account
You'll need to link your Minecraft account to your Obsidian Worlds account before you can connect to a world. You can do this by going to the “Minecraft Accounts” page on the Obsidian Worlds dashboard.

Connecting to Your World
When you’re ready to start your adventure, go to your world, and copy the world URL. Next, in Minecraft, go to “Multiplayer”, select “Add Server”, and paste the world URL.
You can now go ahead and connect to the world, just like any other server. Note that when you join the world, we boot up a server automatically, which might take up to 30s. When you're done and there’s no-one else left online, it will shut down on your way out and create an automatic backup.
Adding Friends (Whitelist)
To add people to your world (i.e. whitelist them), you'll need to add them via the world settings.

Note that your friends also need to be signed up for Obsidian Worlds so that you can add them to your world. If they’re not already on the Early Access program, please contact us on our Discord, and we’ll get them added so they can share the fun!
Have Fun
We're looking forward to hearing what you think so far. Please stress test to your hearts content, if you find any bugs that need squashing then let us know on Discord, socials or the feedback form.
We have no solid dates on how long this round will last but it will be more than enough for your average two week Minecraft binge.
We have a lot more to come, this is just the beginning.
If you’re in the early access program and have thoughts on what should come next, we’d love to hear them!
